My morning routine really does determine the rest of my day.. I feel so strongly about this because for two years whilst facing some very challenging life experiences (lessons ) ... I didn’t follow the routine that had massively help me be successful for 4 years previous.. crazy that when I started journaling over two years ago.. I could see exactly what needed to change.. I didn’t do everything all at once.. and people expect that to be easy for me we are all human we all need help, guidance and support at times. . . Started off with getting up an hour earlier one week then the following week added my smoothie, then each week I made at least 1 even tiny change. . . Over a period of time everything else I used to do is creeping back in even talking to people that used to inspire me daily I became to scared to see or talk to, the way I train, the way I parent, the way I am in my home and even better I’m at the point now of learning some new exciting things.. . . 2 points here - . 1.. nothing happens over night and sometimes you may need to strip right back to basics to find yourself again - that’s okay... if your willing to do the work it may take time but your efforts will determine the outcome. . 2. You do have a choice, what you eat, who you date 🙄 who you talk to, who you surround yourself with, what you learn, what amount of effort your willing to invest in yourself without looking for an excuse. . . Another hectic day to continue this crazy week 😅 How are you guys feeling? I think I have basically given up on this week and have turned to planning for next week instead. Breathing is probably my all time number one coping technique when it comes to my anxiety. It’s something I’ve done to soothe myself for as long as I can remember. Even after years of going to specialists and learning different coping strategies, it’s still my fail safe. It doesn’t matter where I am, what I’m doing or how wound up I am in my head, I can turn my attention to my breath and ease myself. 🙏🏻 . Once I became aware of my conscious breathing when I get anxious a few years back, I sought specific techniques. The 4-7-8 is one I now do often - breathe in for 4 counts, hold for 7 counts, breathe out for 8 counts. Its only been in more recent times through exploring my spirituality that I fell into rhythmic breathing practises like yoga and meditation, which I instantly connected with. Which I believe is probably since controlling my breath is something instinctive for me. . Naturally, for both my mental health and spiritual growth, I’ve been wanting to delve further into #breathwork . And just like that, I was presented the opportunity to undertake the Marcel Hof Method online course with @marcelhofmethod and @the_yogi_lab . It teaches the technique of Dopamine Activation Breathing (D.A.B. ), allowing you to naturally access these chemicals in your brain, as well as releasing tension, regulating mood and elevating energy levels. . It’s been an incredible experience for me - broadening my understanding of breathing techniques and their therapeutic use. The guided sessions become intense as you speed up your breathing and I initially found myself getting anxious trying to keep up. But sitting with this discomfort and pushing through until the final release of breath leaves me feeling so energised, almost buzzing all over. Quite surreal and transformative! . It continues to amaze me that simply breathing in a controlled way can bring on such extreme feelings. Imagine a world where every one is exactly the same. No biodiversity. No variety. Just one carbon copy after another, after another. Imagine that our children look exactly like us. Speak like us. Think like us. There is no learning. There is no growing. There is no adaptation. There is no evolution. Only a regurgitation of information from one generation to the next. Can you see what a devastating world this would be? What is most devastating, on large and small scales alike, is when a community, a culture, or a cult of people try to enforce this kind of sick homogeny on any groups who fall outside of their doctrine or their coding.
