So freaking blessed to have my home workouts. Especially right now. And so happy to have these two by my side during my workout! 🥰🥰 • My workouts have helped me have some sort or routine and something to look forward to in a time where my anxiety and stress level are running rampant and I will continue to do those workouts as well as post about them. • For those of you that don’t know, @usweekly and @dudewithsign recently decided to belittle people that post their at home workouts. • The world does not need more negativity right now. And for someone to think it is okay to judge and ridicule people who are trying to better themselves is the most asinine thing I have heard lately. Sometimes we just need a little help from our friends. • It’s okay to need people. It’s okay to ask for help, encouragement and a listening ear. • If you’ve struggled to stay on track with an exercise routine or found yourself lacking motivation just know you aren’t alone! • I used to yo-yo diet and start an exercise program just to quit after a week or 2. Joining an accountability group was the key to finally staying in a routine of exercising and eating better. • You can do it alone, but why do it alone when you can have help and encouragement every step of the way? • My April group is starting soon and you can join us! Focus on what you CAN change, less on what you CAN’T change. . Considering all circumstances right now it’s a great time for reevaluating our goals, and being realistic. Unfortunately we have to understand that we don’t have access to the gyms or clubs that we all love. But that doesn’t mean you give up on you goal. . It just means you need to reevaluate it. Setting a goal is easy but being able to execute it is the harder part! Using tools such as SMART GOALS is a great step in making it easier. . SMART goals - Acronym for a guide in the setting of objectives. The letters stand for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant or Realistic, and Time-bound. . The more specific your goal is the better, break it down into steps with a time line the more likely you’ll be able to reach it. . Ex. “I want to improve upper body strength” BREAK IT DOWN: 1. Use specific wording. 2. Include measurable goals. 3. Aim for realistically attainable goals. 4. Pick relevant goals that relate to your lifestyle at the moment. 5. I wanna talk about being on a low calorie/low carb diet WHEN first starting a fitness journey 🙃⁣⁣ ⁣ I wish that the world was more educated in the topic because I see healthy people (people that don’t have any health issues ) EVERYWHERE first starting their fitness journeys and they say low carb diet or their under 1200 calories/day or they have to eat less than 100g of carbs/day. It literally shocks me 😅 the only reason that people are on these kinds of diets is because they don’t know any better and people that do know better need to be educating them! ⁣ ⁣ By NO means am I a dietician and I am not saying that you should do this but I do have a lot of experience with food and nutrition and I do learn about this everyday so I am going to share with you a few things that I think are important regarding low carb/low caloric intakes⬇️⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ An active person will 95% of the time need/want 55-60% of their calories as carbs. This will help you perform better in the gym and you DON’T HAVE TO CUT OUT FOODS YOU LIKE from your diet. ⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ Seek advice from someone you know knows what they’re doing! You don’t have to be miserable and cut out carbs!⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ You increase the chances of having micronutrient/vitamin deficiencies👎🏼⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ You will be very low energy and just not feel good for the first few weeks until your body adapts!⁣⁣ -⁣⁣ When you cut out carbs and you’re on a diet like that you have to slowly increase them again over a larger period of time because you WILL most likely gain back the fat!
