Fibre, I get plenty of that 😏 And since I increased my fibre intake a couple of months ago I have seen so many benefits. My hair and nails are in the best condition they have been in a long time, so much so I don't even paint my nails anymore because I love seeing how long they are! 💅 . Fibre increases the absorption of essential nutrients and antioxidants so making sure you are hitting your daily intake should be as important as your protein if you want to get the best out of your food! . Plus, I've not been bloated since the day I decided to try and increase my fibre intake. Not once. And this happened to me weekly so this is HUGE for me! 😃 . Stop working out (just ) to look good. Stop working out to chase a number on the scales. Definitely stop working out for someone else/ to get someone’s attention. WORKOUT FOR YOURSELF. WORKOUT TO FEEL STRONG, TO FEEL HAPPY, TO FEEL CONFIDENT. Far too many people out there workout for certain weight and physique goals and once they hit them, they lose interest. Or, on the flip side, if they haven’t hit them ‘quickly enough,’ they’ll give up. Going to the gym isn’t a means to an end for me, it is the end. Making it to the gym each day makes me feel good and I wake up looking forward to that moment. Pulling that barbell and pushing those dumbells puts me in the zone and in that moment, nothing else matters. It’s just me and the weights. I know that paragraph sounded cheesy A.F but it true- you’ll never properly enjoy going to the gym until you start enjoying gaining strength. In the past, I’ve worked out to look good, or to stay lean, but never actually allowed myself to realised how good it feels to just lift. I’ve been too narrow for a size 6 before and STILL felt self conscious because going to the gym and losing weight doesn’t change your mentality towards your body! Now, I’m the heaviest I’ve EVER been and I feel the most confident I ever have. It’s really made me realise that confidence isn’t always about what’s on the outside, but about your mentality towards situations and how you view yourself.

~ Full Day of Eating ~ What I eat varies a lot each day so if this is something you'd like to see more of let me know in the comments 👇🏼 DISCLAIMER ~ I am in no way telling you that you should eat like me. Every person is different and needs different amounts of food. What works for me won't necessarily work for you. I just want to show that you don't need to cut out food groups and stop making enjoyable meals to make progress! Cheese & choc are staples in my diet and you'll often find me at work snacking on halloumi, cake & pasta. That's just what happens when you work in a pub 🤷🏼‍♀️ My goal with the food is to fuel my workouts so I can continue building strength and lifting heavier. I don't track calories but keep an eye on protein because I'm vegetarian. On this day I ate around 82grams. Start of the day - Glass of water and an Americano with Oat Milk Meal 1 - Cornflakes with raisins and oat milk Meal 2 - Onion & Chive Bagel with 2 Linda McCartney Veggie Sausages, Ketchup and Rocket with a side of cucumber and red pepper. A chocolate eclaire ~ I always fancy something sweet after a meal Snack 1 - Grenade Protein Bar and a Nocco pre workout drink Meal 3 - Veggie chilli full of beans, carrots, mushrooms, pepper, onion, basically any veg I have on my fridge, with brown rice, Greek yog and homemade guacamole Snack 2 - Alpro Soya Chocolate Swirl Ice-Cream with a square of Lindt Dark Choc Salted Caramel and a squeeze of choc shot.

Whenever I've seen protein water in the shops, I always expect it to taste like weak squash or have a artifical taste to it. I have to admit though, I'm surprised at how tasty these two flavours are! Sometimes it’s not all about the calorie counting or macro counting. Sometimes it’s just about understanding that you’ve counted your calories for 90% of the week, you’ve been to gym, you’ve exercised and YOU deserve a guilt free treat. Sometimes you just have to accept that you won't have the productive Monday you had set yourself up for🤷🏼‍♀️ - My morning started off so well, then I had a wobble (and a little cry to be honest ) when I realised that we won't be able to go to France next month for a very special occasion: my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary celebration, which to me was more important than Christmas. I kinda knew we couldn't travel for multiple Covid related reasons but I fully processed it today when the postman dropped the actual invitation... The only thing I dislike about working from home on my own is that when I'm in a funk, it's hard to get out of it. Sometimes when I let my mood slip, the whole day ends up being a write off. So the fact that I actually managed to save the afternoon and complete the main tasks on my to-do list instead of dropping the ball is enough of a victory for today. Not the best Monday, but not the worst either, so I'll take that 🙏🏻 and there’s 6 more days to make this week count. Have a great one ✨ - [Wearing a beautiful @perffstudio set, kindly gifted]

Hello! There’s been quite a few new faces here over the last couple of weeks and I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly! I’m Bethan and I’m all about strategies to have more energy for life and live well in the world. I’ve struggled with my wellbeing and mental health for most of my life, but over the years I’ve found things that have helped make things more manageable and I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learnt on Instagram and on my blog www.bethantaylorswaine.com. ⭐️ Energy is at the heart of everything I do. When you understand the relationship between stress and rest then you’ll have a better handle on your energy. ⭐️ living well in the world is a lovely phrase used by one of my doctors and it’s my benchmark for my wellbeing. For me it means being able to do the things I want to do, live productively and participate in my community unencumbered. ⭐️ Mindset, gratitude and connection all play a huge role in my life and are things I prioritise. I share lots about how these tools help me on my blog. ⭐️ I’ve been a runner for years and have run everything from 1 mile sprints to ultra marathon. I credit running with being my ‘lightbulb moment’ when I realised I was capable of so much more than I ever dreamed. It changed my life. ⭐️ I started outdoor swimming after a difficult patch this year and it’s been another game changer. The positive effect on my wellbeing is palpable and that’s why I share so much about it, I honestly believe cold water immersion can have amazing benefits for all of us. ⭐️ I’m a qualified PT and I love introducing people to movement - nothing is better than seeing someone do something they never thought they could do, it’s magic! ⭐️ A few years ago I quit the city and went back to uni full time. I’m now working on my PhD researching the representations and identities of women in ultra running @birkbeckuol . It’s hard work and demands a huge amount of energy, but it’s fascinating and I love it. Cont. in comments!

"You’ve changed" is the best compliment I can receive. Yes thank goodness I have, for the better🙏🏻 - From seeking happiness in material things (the amount of useless things I used to buy makes me cringe ) to finding joy in the simplest moments, from trying to live up to the fitspo standards to making fitness work for me, from trying to fit in to paving my own way, from consuming mindlessly to starting my journey towards a more sustainable lifestyle... I could go on forever. - I’m not perfect, I’m not "there" yet but I kinda love the journey I’m on ✨ - Your purpose, values & priorities can change. You can’t grow when everything stays the same.
