So today I have been working on the first 24 weeks of training using the Couch to 5K app from the @nhsengland to get my stamina and running into my routine. This will take me up to 9 weeks to complete then the next goal being 10k. Along side this I have my strength training aspect of my plan. The first phase is the Stabilization phase specifically focuses on: - Improving muscle imbalances - Improving stabilization through core musculature - Preventing tissue overload by preparing muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints for the upcoming imposed demands of training - Establishing proper movement patterns and exercise technique. Tomorrow is the day my journey to Ironman starts. HOW TO DELOAD __ This current week for myself id refer to as a deload week, essentially meaning I have a week away from training, despite the fact we’ve been placed into lockdown 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 it seems a positive to view this week as a deload. Normally I would use a deload week to still train, mainly just because I get a bit bored around the house and it’s my hobby training, I just reduce the intensity of my sessions.📉 So if we were talking in terms of RPE our working sets currently at a RPE 10, a deload week would put us at a RPE of around 6-7. Personally if you’re someone who gets mentally fatigued from training then i'd recommend to just take the week off, stay active, stay moving but give your mind 🧠 a rest from training. I'd recommend taking a deload week at the end of every training block, or more importantly just when you see fit. For me the sweet spot is round every 12-14 weeks.📅 I can normally feel a few injury niggles occur which is my body telling me to take my foot off the gas. 🚑I If you’re going into training feeling a bit beaten up with your progress stalling or feeling fatigued mentally and physically, then it's probably your body telling you to take it easy for a week. Your body is pretty smart, it will tell you when you need to rest. Use the deload week to really emphasise recovery, put your feet up, chuck some epsom salts in your bath 🛀, get your head back in the game, get your steps in and prepare for your next training block. If you’ve been tracking your foods for an extended period of time, take this as an opportunity to eat intuitively, put them Salter food scales away⚖️ and pick them up in a week's time. Implementing a deload is a healthy way to ensure your motivation is always peaking to train, give yourself a break and come back more motivated and stronger than before 💪 __ How often do you take a week off training?

MENTAL HEALTH: Like most people I’ve suffered with depression and still do at times but I use the gym as a coping mechanism this is my 16th day straight without rest feeling mentally and physically drained I should know better being. Qualified PT myself but we never take our own advice. I’m rest up and come back better and stronger. I see all of the above, one thing about all of these photos... i’m smiling. Even when trying to do something that I can’t currently, (and obviously whilst having a glass of wine in my hand and burger in the other ) not every night may I add.. . Ps using a bosu ball to get up for negatives is a new one for me but it’s so good, also makes it a lot more fun, basically a mini trampoline right 🤷🏼‍♀️. Bands on order as I hate the assisted machine. Being able to do pull ups in my offseason are a personal goal for me. The heavier you are the harder it is... We will be doing pull ups at 75kg in no time @coachjmchale 🤣💀You can always be stronger ⭕️

Dopamine is a #neurotransmitter - meaning it’s a chemical responsible for transmitting messages between nerve cells within the #brain The reward and pleasure areas of the brain are rich with #dopamine receptors; hence dopamine plays a key role in the brain’s reward system and also in how we feel pleasure. Dopamine is released when your brain is expecting a reward, and this release of dopamine creates a reward circuit in the brain. This circuit registers an intense experience as "important" and creates lasting memories of it as pleasurable, motivating you to repeat the specific behaviour which led to that dopamine release. In fact, when you come to associate a certain activity with pleasure, just the anticipation of that activity may be enough to raise dopamine levels. Dopamine creates reward-seeking loops that can lead to destructive, addictive behaviours (Such as alcohol and drug addiction ) but can also help us build healthy behaviours (Such as a regular exercise routine ). Dopamine causes us to want, desire and seek out pleasurable & rewarding experiences. Dopamine drives goal-directed behaviour, making us curious about ideas and fuelling a search for information. Dopamine heavily influences our ability to pay attention, concentrate, learn and find things interesting. Dopamine helps us to think, plan and focus. It also plays a role in memory and learning. Dopamine boosts mood, motivation, and attention, and helps regulate movement and emotional responses. The problem when you get to a certain body fat percentage, is that normall cameras do not show your real conditioning, even good lighting. Keep Its Simple 🔥⁣ ⁣ So many people time and time again try to over complicated what is actually a very simple process. ⁣ ⁣ what ever your goal may be,  wether your looking to reduce body fat, increase muscle mass and strength, I can guarantee that you have done or attempted something which has over completed the process at some point along the way.⁣ ⁣ Now this is not a bad thing however why would you want to over complicate something and make it harder that it should be, far to many try find the quick fix, the magic supplement or training split to achieve their set goal and during this period of time they have actually not progressed at all while trying to do so. ⁣ ⁣ They have taken their eye off the most important aspect to the whole process which is “why the started” “what they want to get out the process”⁣ ⁣ And to achieve them its very simple 🔥⁣ ⁣ ❌ Instead of worrying about counting your macros down to the exact number and becoming very overwhelmed by it and then actually fall off the wagon 👇🏽⁣ ⁣ ✅ Try to just consciously eating a little cleaner, consume a good portion of protein and veg with each meal, consume a pint of water with each meal.⁣ ⁣ ❌ Instead of looking for the best workout plan and swapping and changing your routine weekly after seeing something fancy on insta⁣ ⁣ ✅ Stick to the basics and master them before you progress, train 3-4 days per week instead of aiming for 6-7 and under achieving, follow a upper/lower split.⁣ ⁣ ❌ Instead of doing fasted cardio every morning 6am as you think this is the key to achieving your goals⁣ ⁣ ✅ Try just increasing your overall daily expenditure, anywhere fro 8-12k steps daily depending on your goals, maybe a walk pre workout or evening before winding down.⁣ ⁣ why complicate something thats very simple ⁣ ⁣ TEAM MJM FITNESS 🚀⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #fatlossmotivation #fatlosscoach #fatlosscoach #fatlosshelp #fatlosstips #fitfam #ukfit #ukfitfam#results #trainingprogram #bodybuilding #mobilitytraining #trainingday #getfitstayfit #traininghard #resultstalk #sleep #recovery #musclebuilding #hypertrophy #strengthtraining #healthyliving #movemore #weightlosstips #weightlossdiet #trainingmotivation #trainingforlife
