🔸AVOID THESE THREE COMMON MISTAKES FOR A BETTER PLANK ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📝 When executing the plank there are a few very common mistakes and compensation patterns you would want to avoid in order to get the maximum out of this exercise with regard to core strengthening: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ➕ HIPS TO HIGH: The plank simply gets vastly easier when placing the hips too high and you will lose significant amounts of training stimulus on your actual target muscles. Sometimes it can also be simply the lack of being able to engage the core properly that puts one into this compensation pattern to avoid one of the following (less comfortable ) mistakes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ➕ LOWER BACK SAG: This one is tricky as it is usually only visible when checking your form in a mirror or on a video. The lower back sack occurs when the pelvis is anteriorly tilted and leads more back involvement while decreasing the demand on your abs. If this happens towards the end of your set it could simply be a sign of fatigue and should be followed by ending the set and adjusting your plank time.
