BRB just dying from this weeks training ✌️😂 - - This was literally me after every single WOD this week 😂💁🏼‍♀️ But loved every min of it, even tho I nearly died and couldn’t breathe a lot of the time 🤪 I have felt a lot stronger and a lot fitter than I have before 💪 - - Yesterday’s WOD: “Fortitude” Alt EMOM 30 - 15 rounds: (every min on the min ) Every odd min: 12/15 cal row Every even min: 15 burpees For the first round of the WOD I did the workout as prescribed but realised very quickly 😂 that I had to scale it down to 10cal and 10 burpees. Because my goal was to be consistent in this WOD, instead of doing some rounds RX and dying in the rest of the WOD and not being able to keep up with my reps. Believing that we must rid ourselves of anxiety before acting only breeds weakness. ✨ . Last week @joeklemczewski sent me a video titled “The School of Anxiety is the School of Greatness” and damn did it hit hard. . All too often we look at anxiety as a negative emotion instead of realizing that it has both negative and constructive qualities. . Most of us have anxiety when things feel unpredictable, open ended and have the ability to become royally fucked. The potential of something new, helpful or exciting is instantly crippled by our self doubting anxiety and we halt all progress forward. . But if we “wish to escape from a life of passivity, stagnation or mediocrity, we must be willing to attend the school of anxiety.” . Read that over a few times. 👏🏻 . I’ll be the first to admit this is incredibly hard and likely a process myself and lot of people will have to work on the rest of their lives. But simply wishing you didn’t have anxiety is counterproductive. With the right amount of introspection and behavior modifications, you can learn instead to use it constructively. 😊 . TRAINING UPPER BODY 💦 I’ve been trying to train upper body once a week in between my leg rest days and this helps me keep my upper body toned and strong 💪🏽 building muscle in my back and shoulders helps me to lift heavier and with better posture during my leg days (= bigger glute gains 😋 ). . Some of my favourites in the gym for a toned back are: lat pull downs, assisted pull ups, bent over rows & seated cable rows 🙌🏼 . And for sculpted shoulders: side lateral raises, shoulder press, front raises & upright rows.
