RSD: 1501 = 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up + 30 Min Hills Run + 20 Min Strength for Runners + 10 Min Core Strength w/ @becsgentry & @onepeloton #tribewars #becsbeasts 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️ _ I stayed home today, woke up with a headache & thankfully after 10 my head started feeling better. The heatwave & even if I hydrate, I don’t think it’s enough. 🥵🥵🥵 _ Anyway, I decided that I would work from home & took my usual breaks in between to workout. 🤷🏽‍♀️ _ For Tribe Wars & I was curious, I took a beginner Hills run. I wanted to see how this kind of class went. I went my speeds of course. Jogging was 6.0 - 6.2. Strong run was 6.3 - 7.0. We went 2, 4 & 6% inclines. Jog 45 seconds, recover, then run 30 seconds. We climbed down, then climbed back up. This class was manageable & I’ll try an intermediate class for next time. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️ _ Had to pause a few times. One was to put my hair in a bun, then I had to rearrange the fan, I choked because I squeezed the hydration to fast. Last was to fix the inclines. It was a quick fix thankfully. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️ _ I got in 20 Min Strength for Runners after & boy did I glow. Man this was hard. But good because my other workouts don’t work on balance. Great news. I will once again be Pacer for @clivestartathlete at the @taraweraultramarathon 100 Mile Endurance Run in February 2021. This is Clive's 4th time at this distance, and the 4th year this event has been 'run'. The first year was a rain sodden, muddy mess that resulted in many DNFs (Did Not Finish ), Clive amongst them. The following year, I joined him at Okataina and he completed his first 100 Miler in 34 and a bit hours, and collected the prized pounamu toki. This year, due to unforseen travel requirements, Clive's training took a back seat in the weeks prior to the event and it wasn't to be. I was doing my own thing in the 102km event, so was disappointed to learn of his DNF later on the following afternoon. Next year is redemption year. Clive wants another pounamu...and I like watching people suffer 🤣 so the two of us will once again set off from Okataina in the middle of the night to complete the last 40+km of Clive's 162km journey around the lakes of Rotorua and Mt Tarawera. My picture taking abilities are poor these days 🤣 But day 11 now of #rwrunstreak and I've never run more than four days in a row in my life! It's been an adventure. Run much needed today. The stress of this week at work built up and I let stupid shit get to me. Cried and reflected to my boss. Lots of this is COVID-19 related and the unmanageables with the job and it can be so frustrating. Craving for normalcy again but scared it won't be for a while or even be "normal" again. TODAY, I RAN IN MY POWER. . I pledged to run 2 miles virtually today with @flygirlcollective on what is Global Running Day with Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor as my motivation. . As it happens, I didn't have a way of guaranteeing my distance would be 2 miles; I started my watch late by accident and when I was finished I tapped into Google - "2 miles in kms" and the answer I got was 3.21km... the EXACT distance I ran for my W1 R2 of Couch to 5km. .
