NEVER BEFORE....⁠🥬 ⁠• ...have I managed to cook rice from scratch & make it edible!! 🙈⁠ ⁠• Yep, it is one of my ultimate life fails, when trying to cook rice from scratch in the past it has always turned out as either wall paper paste or the most tooth-breaking health hazard so for the majority of my 20s & now into my 30s, I've stayed away from it & on the odd chance when I've eaten rice, it tends to come from my friend Uncle Bens & comes in a pack!⁠ ⁠• But @mindfulchefuk changed all of that last week, when I gave their Cod, Olive Salsa & Turmeric Rice dish a go - & although there were moments when I thought the rice would be heading for the bin, thankfully I pulled it back & made an edible dish - which my other half was very grateful for!⁠ ⁠• A dish where the flavours were not what I would have normally gone for, but wanted to get out of my comfort zone & give it a try - it was delicious! June 1, 2019 ➡️ May 28, 2020 . Today marks my 1 year anniversary of working out. When I started my first program, I had already lost 40 pounds. I was really excited, but I was scared. I hadn't worked out in several years and I wasn't sure just how out of shape I was. But, I committed to 80 days of a @beachbody program. Those 80 days really shaped me. I worked hard every day, learned to push harder, and fell in love with becoming an athlete again. I sharpened my self-discipline, my drive, and my mindset of "no excuses" and have stuck with Beachbody ever since. I love the mental edge I get when I start my day off with a workout. I've already accomplished something before my day really even starts. I love the programs that Beachbody has to offer - not everyone likes the at-home workout vibe, but the convenience has made this sustainable for me. That is what matters - find something that works for you! . To date, I have worked out 302 days, and I average about 5 days per week. I've dropped another 45lbs, making my total weight loss almost 85lbs. I have lost over 24 inches. Lemon Kale Chips Kale chips are a delicious, easy, and inexpensive way to get more greens into your diet. Try this recipe for original flavored kale chips or spice them up with other herbs and essential oils for more options. Try garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, and Lemon oil for an Italian twist, or cumin and Lime oil for Mexican-style chips. 
Ingredients 1 large bunch kale, washed and torn into bite-size pieces 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 drops Lemon oil Salt & pepper 
Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 200° F. 2. Wash and dry kale thoroughly. 3. Combine olive oil and Lemon oil in large mixing bowl. 4. Add kale and toss. Make sure kale is well coated with oils. 5. Once coated, place on baking sheet in single layer. 6. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. 7. Bake on the center rack for 45–50 minutes or until crispy. Tip: Keep an eye on the smaller pieces and take them out if they are done earlier; otherwise they will burn.

It feels like we've skipped right ahead to Summer already but I'd like Spring to have its moment until June 20th, thank you very much!! ~ ... ~ ... 🌷 🌷🌷 My Favourite Spring Things 🌷🌷 🌷 TULIPS LONG WALKS PASTELS BACK TO BALLET FLATS, NO SOCKS!! . ~ NM, Xx 🌷🌷 . ~ Aside from buying fresh produce daily, I also miss picking up fresh flowers from my local Bloor-Kingsway markets as I'm staying at home, homeschooling. With my asthma & recent bronchitis after a terrible flu in Jan., I'm also not the designated person to venture out for our essentials; these are no longer purchased daily either. Life is definitely different now: I miss seeing my large family and circle of friends in person, so very very much. Walking helps balance my vertigo and related anxiety that comes along with it. Last night I did my first 5km outdoor walk of the season with the blisters to prove it. Homemade joy has been a phrase on my heart the last couple of weeks. There’s certainly been extra time at home to work on it ; ) Going on a walk to a neighborhood park and reading in our hammocks, making monster bubble mix, baking new recipes, writing letters, calling & facetiming with family...the days over the past three months have been peppered with lots of homemade joy. I’ve been excited to announce our summer mini sessions - it’s at the extra lovely @stonegate .farm outside lexington...we’ll be using a lovely corner just past their barn that has trees and fencing aplenty. And I just heard from the owner that it’s like a bird sanctuary right now...so peaceful. I could have done it a bit earlier but I didn’t want there to be too big of a rush to arrange some clothes and get haircuts (my sweetheart has been getting trims from our daughter on the back porch, how about your crew? ). I'm not really a huge smoothie fan....I always think if I'm having a meal, I'm gonna eat it! Make it feel like a little something more than just a thick drink ya know?! 🥤 But when you finish a run, are pushed for time, it's hot outside and you have some old 'nanas to use up... today it made sense! . And it was pretty good actually! More like a thick chocolate milkshake.... 🍌1 banana, frozen 🍫1 scoop @the_tribe_way choc protein powder (optional, good quality cocoa or cacao can sub for a choc hit ) 🥜5 walnuts + 2 brazil nuts (+ 1tsp ground flax actually ) 🥛250-300ml organic semi skimmed milk (mill something I used to avoid, and am still uncomfortable from an ethical pov - more on that another time! ) . Blitz, stick a straw in and enjoy! Cheers! 🖤

I see how different your perspective is. How much you long to wake up with energy, walk around without pain, text a friend without anxiety. ⁣ ⁣ When I took this picture I was reflecting on just a few treatments that I had tried over the past couple of months. None of which seemed to be working…All I wanted was my health. ⁣ ⁣ 1 goal. But owning less also makes tidying up, rearranging, and moving much easier too. In addition to the obvious benefits, there are also many unseen benefits to owning less and to getting organized. ⁠ ⁠ Having a minimized, organized space reduces anxiety, makes decision making easier (no more agonizing "what am I gonna wear?" if you have a few choices that you LOVE ), and clears the energy in your home. Many of us know by now that our gut - the enteric nervous system - is our “second brain.” This second brain often gets placed at a distant second in importance when it comes to our “first brain.” Did you know that there are over 500 million nerves in your intestines sending feedback to your brain through the vagus nerve? That’s five times more nerves than in your spinal cord! The quality of our gut microbiome plays a HUGE role in how we feel. And the quality of that gut is largely determined by the food it gets, namely, fiber. So whatever you like to eat, increase the plant diversity that you eat and build a healthier microbiome.
