LOWER BODY STRETCH One of the benefit of lower body stretch is circulating the blood in the lower body, maintain range of motion in the joints, keep the muscles strong, flexible and healthy. You need yoga blocks and towel/yoga straps for these stretches. Here some of my go to stretches: 1.PYRAMID POSE Nice distance between front and back leg. Make sure your back toes out and press down the back heel. INHALE, roll your right hip back and also press the inner right foot down. This action make your feel the stretch not only your back leg muscles (hamstrings ) but iliotibial band. EXHALE, lengthening your spine from sit bones to reach toward to top of the head. . 2.ARDHA HANUMASANA INHALE, pull the right hip back and left hip bringing forward then firming the inner thighs toward the mid line. EXHALE, squeeze your right quadriceps and flexed the front leg . 3.JANU SIRSASANA Bend the right knee and extend the left leg forward. INHALE, lift the chest and roll the shoulders back. EXHALE, hinging from the hips. . 4.DANDASANA Sit upright. Extend both legs forward. INHALE, lift chest and roll the shoulders back. EXHALE, hinging from the hips. Circle a towel/yoga strap around the feet to reach optimum stretch. . Yoga for GOOD POSTURE Posture is something that can have a huge impact on the way our bodies feel. Slouching or slumping or sitting awkwardly at the desk all day for work can putting stress in our spine which makes the muscles spam and cause us pain. These are gentle movements that keep our spine happy and prevent us from back pain and improve our posture. 1.SEATED STRETCHING CROSSED LEGS SIDE BENDING Sit in the simple crossed legs. Inhale, lengthen our spine towards the top of the head. Exhale bending to the side. Do this 5-10 times each side. . SEATED TWISTING Inhale sit upright with a long spine, exhale twist to the side. Do this 5-10 times each side . BACKBENDING FORWARD FOLD Inhale interlocked fingertips behind the back, lift chest, look up slightly. Exhale forward fold. ⏰Do this 5-10 times . . 2.KNEELING STRETCHING CAT COW Place hands under the shoulders and knees under the hips (table top position ). Inhale arching the back, exhale round the back. Do this 5-10 times. . GATE POSE SIDE BENDING From the table top position. Inhale, step right leg to the side (in line with left knee ). Exhale push the hips forward and side bending. . 3.SUPINE STRETCHING DYNAMIC BRIDGE Hands by the side and feet under knees with toes forward. Inhale lift the hips. Exhale lower down the hips. Do this 5-10 times. . SINGLE LEG TWISTING Inhale, pull the knee into the chest. Exhale twist to the side. Do this 5-10 times. . . HEADSTAND ON THE WALL I get requests to breakdown my headstand routine step by step before practicing away from wall. The wall is going to be your friend for a while but it’s best and solid support to build up your endurance, strength and confidence. Have fun in your journey! 1.HALF HEADSTAND ON THE WALL From the table top, get down on your elbows place where your fingertips were. rooting down through your elbows and take your feet not higher than your butts. Lean to pull the ribs in, navel in and firming the inner thighs together toward the mid line. ALTERNATE LIFT THE LEG As your lift one leg up. Hugging the inner legs together toward the mid line. Making sure the hip of your lifted lift doesn’t externally rotate. Tipping on you toes. 2.HEADSTAND KNEES TUCKED shoulder width apart. Get into your dolphin and top of your head on the mat. Walk your feet towards yourself and lift one knee and press the lifted heel to your butt, tip your butts over shoulder before being one knee to tucked. Land your butts on the wall, tipping on your toes and pull your butts away from your wall. Stay here, breathe, pull navel in and up and firming the inner thighs in. TAKE FLIGHT Extend one leg up to the ceiling and firming out right glute towards the mid line before extend other leg. Squeeze your inner thighs together and almost squeeze your butts together, and reaching up towards inner heels (sending the energy up to the ceiling ) . . 3.STANDING SPLIT Focus on your standing leg. Lift the outer glute of your standing leg up toward the ceiling and squeeze that outer glute toward the mid line and you can lift the out leg as high as you want or slightly externally rotate it to open the hip. HEADSTAND SPLIT ONE LEG UP Set up a block distance on the wall. From your dolpin, get top of the head on the mat. One leg split up, reaching up through the heel. Adducting the inner thighs as your bring the other leg up so get a solid trunk on the lower body while you’re at your headstand. Firming the inner thighs together and reaching up to the ceiling with the toes. As much as you squeeze your inner thighs together, squeeze your glutes as well. navel and ribs pull in but breathe into the

HEADSTAND DRILLS ☄️☄️ You need yoga blocks and socks for these drills. These drills help you build SO much strength, body awareness and confidence for your headstands. You should NOT feel any compression in your NECK. My best RULE is DO NOT kick into your headstand. EVER‼️ 1.STATIC CHILD POSE. Elbows rest on the edge of the block and hold for 1 minutes. DYNAMIC PULSE CHILD POSE. Push your chests down and up for 20 reps. Neck on the neutral position. 2.FOREARMS SIDE PLANK. Do 12-15 each side. Shoulder width apart. Press down through your elbow as you hold your side plank. Draws your belly in. FOREARMS HIPS DIP. Do 1 minutes. Move side to side and belly brace in. feel the 🔥in your core. 3.DOLPHIN. Do 20 reps. This drill helps to open the back of the leg. Interlock your fingertips. Press down through your elbows, extend your trunk. Draws belly in & up. Tailbone draws in. Bent the knees then extend your legs. Lifting your quadriceps and hold few second. DOLPHIN PUSH UP. Do 1 minutes. This drill works to strengthening your shoulders and triceps. 4.HEADSTAND STRADDLE SLIDES. Do 5-10 reps. Shoulders away from ears Distribute the weight evenly to your forearms and you shouldn’t feel anything in the neck. HEADSTAND TUCKED. Bring one knee to chest and squeezing your heel to your butt. Adventure your hip over the shoulder and feel NOTHING in your neck. You can practice this close to the wall. . . Practice safe and have a good fun! For those who are finding hard time during this isolation. No motivation to do workout or yoga, less productive, emotions all over the place. Give yourself permission to feel them, don’t push them down. All your emotions and feelings are valid. We might not able to control how long we gonna stay in this isolation but we can control how to act. Do meditation, do breathing work and self-affirmations after in the morning or before bedtime, journaling about how you feel that day. But I wanna remind you, it is you who does the work and your teacher guides you. You are the only one doing the work, showing up, sweating, stretching, bending, breathing. Your practice isn’t lost, it’s inside you. Start your home practice. How are you holding up? I’m trying to flip my perspectives, motivate and inspire myself from one moment to the other moment but there’s few moments I felt scared, sad, anxious about the unknown.
